This graphics card from Afox on Radeon RX 6600 GPU, like other graphics cards on the same processor, is good for gaming and other work in Full HD resolution. However, this is how AMD is positioning this graphics processor.
If we talk about the closest competitors, the card is slightly better than GeForce RTX 3050, but at the same time it is somewhat worse than RTX 3060. As for the latter, it should be separately noted that the difference in the amount of video memory is not crucial. At 1920×1080/1200 resolution the user feels quite comfortable with 8 GB of RX 6600, and there is no difference with 12 GB of RTX 3060. But at 2560×1440 (2.5K) parameters you will have to lower the quality of graphics for at least relative comfort.
However, when running such games there are problems with comparable cards from Nvidia, but not so noticeable as with cards from Radeon. However, in some cases RX 6600 gives very good comfort figures in games even with ray tracing. But on one condition: if the developers used FSR technology.
Afox Radeon RX 6600 graphics card cooling system: slotted radiator made of aluminum alloy, heat pipes and two 85 mm fans.
The graphics card gives very good performance in terms of heat and power consumption. At maximum load in 3D, the core heats up to not more than 76 degrees, and the figure for power consumption – at 103 watts. For a card of this class, these figures are considered quite acceptable. Heating occurs mainly due to the increase in operating temperature of the graphics processor.
As for such parameter as noise level, in 2D it does not exceed 22.2 dBA, which corresponds to the “quiet” rating. And in 3D when maximum power is needed to be squeezed the noise level from fans increases to 34.5 dBA, and this is almost at the level of “loud” parameter.
This graphics card is not equipped with backlighting, which would certainly gladden users from rather large group of video card lovers with backlight.
Based on the results of testing the graphics card in resource intensive games with ray tracing, we can say that it loses in terms of performance GeForce RTX 2060. In some cases, the situation is more or less leveled by using FSR technology, but not all game developers lay down support for this technology.
In its price category Afox Radeon RX 6600 looks not just very convincing, but also outperforms many video cards of comparable price, and in some respects even leaves behind more expensive GeForce RTX 3050. When comparing the two graphics cards, the RX 6600 is shown to be as good as the RTX 3050 in virtually every aspect of benchmarking.
In ray tracing games, though, RX 6600 figures are still much more modest than RTX 3050, especially if we don’t resort to FSR.
However, the apparent advantage of this graphics card is its low price, or rather one of the lowest in its segment. A 8 gigabytes of memory and other features allow users to feel quite comfortable with this graphics card in most modern games.
